Soil
fertility test kits may be purchased from county offices of the Penn
State Cooperative Extension or from commercial firms or garden centers
that stock kits for the convenience of their customers. The test kit
consists of a sample submission form, instructions on how to take a soil
sample, a sample bag and return envelope for mailing your sample back to
the laboratory.
If
you do not have access to a county extension office, you may submit your
sample (approximately 1 cup) in your own container (e.g. plastic Ziploc
bag) with one of the following submission forms (pdf format). Select
the form based on the type of crop or plant for which you would like
recommendations. Payment of $9.00 per sample must accompany your
sample(s). Checks should be made payable
to Penn State University.
